Add a CommentWow from the producers of texas chainsaw massacre (great movie) and final destination (best in the world) comes this crappy fish movie dude pirahna was so better the only cool part was the tiger shark sorry just not good.
I had low expectations ,.. so I enjoyed this solidly produced , if somewat 'campy', "B-movie" ( that has better-than-"B" production values). No deep drama ,.. just entertainment by the numbers in a well-traveled theme ,.. with some highly 'effective' CGI moments. ( Glad I missed the 3D version.)
Take the hidden cam motel in Vacancy, add some characters who would not be out a place in a Hostel move, and season with Jaws. Mix and you get Shark Night. In fact, the first scene is almost exactly that same as in Jaws when Chrissy gets attacked. It's a B-movie, so don't epect any classic. There were actually a good couple of scares in the movie, which is a good thing in a horror movie. And of course, we have a bunch of college students parading around in bikini's. And even though these kids are in college, how is it they always manage to get into the water which they know is shark infested? Stay in the nice house and have a couple of drinks. Oh well, stupidity is always a theme in horror movies. Not a bad movie for a popcorn night, but if you miss it, you won't be missing much.
The movie was very weak but, the effects were great; the best part of the movie.
Pretty much what you would expect. Far fetched plot with passable acting and decent special effects. Was it ever scary? Not really. Decent amount of blood and skin for a PG-13 flick. Nothing really impressed me about this movie except for some of the shark effects were better than I expected.
Weak attempt to combine Jaws & college summer lake weekend getaway ,,,, not very fun or interesting or scary. Don't !!
This is a predictable but somewhat entertaining horror flick. It does make an insightful commentary on our society’s voyeuristic tendencies. This, however, comes too late in the plot and feels like a weak attempt to add some substance to the movie.
