Add a CommentI really enjoyed the Irish humor, but about midway to the end the film ran out of steam and fell flat for me. I was disappointed with the ending. This film started off with a great bang. It would have been perfect if the humor kept up to the end.
movie is just lame. waste of a dvd i think. dont waste your time. not really funny at all'
not good not bad
Great, great movie. Quirky dialogue, twisted humour, and a cast of eccentric characters. Brendan Gleeson rarely disappoints on the screen and he certainly doesn't here.
LMFAO! Rewound a few times b/c we struggled a bit with Irish accent/dialect (didn't want to miss a word of the brilliant script). Highly recommended! Gleeson and Cheadle excellent actors. Drug dealers discussing/debating favourite philosophers, bahahahaha,
Great adult film! The language is pretty crude - but if you like Irish humour, then you'll love this movie! The dumb-as-a-fox Irish Guard reminds me of many lads back home. If you're Irish to begin with - there are lots of "in" jokes, for sure - both at the expense of the "Yank" - and amongst the Irish characters, themselves. Just loved the explanation given as to how the IRA supposedly infiltrated British Intelligence's MI-6!
It took a little longer this year... usually by now, I've already announced a "Best Film I've Seen This Year"... what with 'The Oscar' buzz and all... But - here it is!!! And it comes fresh after seeing The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Toronto on Sunday! What better film to follow such an annual spectacle, than this lovely little Irish ditty! What a sparkling green gem of a movie! Such biting sardonic humour... a wonderfully interesting and well-developed cast... clever calculated language for all, even the secondary characters... happily mis-directed sight-gags... all nicely paced to compliment the visuals of a sublime Irish countryside! I loved this movie - and all the unexpected chuckles it produced! The sheer audacity of the script makes you a slave to low embering Irish wit and humour. And the engaging characters, protagonists, antagonists, bit actors, all - never disappoint in making this sleeper of a film - my favourite movie of the year, so far!!!
Very funny (dark British humor). Yes, you might want the subtitles on if you can't understand the heavy Irish accent. I enjoyed this one.
Very disappointing, considering its positive reviews. Just a complete mess. Doesn't work at all.
