Add a CommentI love Lots of Anne Rice books. But this book did not hold my interest. I would not recommend this book.
This book can be quite interesting if you can persevere past the first 70 pages... I found the plot interesting, but the characters not soo much. I think it was because of the fact that this is the first book i read about Werewolves... But the characters are quite badly portrayed, this is not like Anne Rice! We are soo used to learning the beautiful and enticing lives of all her characters, that we soon love them with passion, but in this book, it is all straightforward.
I've been a big fan of Anne Rice for a long time, and I was so excited when I heard she had come out with a werewolf book. But I am so disappointed. The plot was obvious from the very beginning and it really dragged. Her detailed style of writing is better suited to period pieces, where the details bring the past to life; but in this it just took pages and pages to get anywhere.
No surprises. The plot is transparent . Rice's usual sophisticated writing has turned into commerical "Romance" prose .Her attempt at taking a Villian and making it good is very sophomoric and cheesey.. The ending just begs for a sequel.Does Rice really need the money?
A sheep in wolf``s clothing...very disappointing read...sophmoric and very forgettable
