… More »After she loses her engagement ring and her phone is stolen during a hotel fire drill, Poppy Wyatt, discovering an abandoned phone in a trash can, crashes into the life of the phone's owner, businessman Sam Roxton, when she uses his phone to make her wedding preparations. I 've lost it. The only thing in the world I wasn't supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It has been in Magnus's family for three generations. And now the very same day his parents are coming, I've lost it. The very same day! Do not hyperventilate, Poppy. Stay positive! Poppy Wyatt has never felt luckier. She is about to marry her ideal man, Magnus Tavish, but in one afternoon her "happily ever after" begins to fall apart. Not only has she lost her engagement ring in a hotel fire drill but in the panic that follows, her phone is stolen. As she paces shakily around the lobby, she spots an abandoned phone in a trash can. Finders keepers! Now she can leave a number for the hotel to contact her when they find her ring. Perfect! Well, perfect except that the phone's owner, businessman Sam Roxton, doesn't agree. He wants his phone back and doesn't appreciate Poppy reading his messages and wading into his personal life. What ensues is a hilarious and unpredictable turn of events as Poppy and Sam increasingly upend each other's lives through emails and text messages. As Poppy juggles wedding preparations, mysterious phone calls, and hiding her left hand from Magnus and his parents, she soon realizes that she is in for the biggest surprise of her life.

Add a CommentAnother excellent addition to the Sophie Kinsella oeuvre. This book is in the classic Sophie Kinsella style: it is fun, light, breezy, and enjoyable. Sometimes the plot and characters are a little silly, but I just go along for the ride and enjoy the book for what it is instead of nitpicking about what it isn't. If you already like Kinsella's books, then you'll probably like this one. If you're not a fan, you never will be. If you've never tried one, then this would be a great one with which to start.
Fun read with lots of romantic ups and downs that are of course resolved in the end.
Excellente!... Xxxx :) xxx:) Xxxx:) read the book! you'll understand, if this author doesnt pick you up out of any sad moments then nothing will!, shes just the best.
yo sup yolo im a korean boy
Every time I pick up a Sophie Kinsella hoping I'll be in for a light, breezy, enjoyable read, I put it down after a chapter in disgust. The characters are absolutely unsympathetic, and frankly, irritating.
What can I say? I love sohpie kinsella. This book made me laugh & I couldn't put it down. I felt the chemistry between the characters and loved the main character to bits. Can't wait til her next book comes out!
I loved this story. In Chapter 2 I thought I had the ending all figured out and I would be very disappointed by the book. But, I was wrong. There were so many twist and turns it really kept you guessing and wanting to keep reading. I read the whole book in three days. Awesome story!! Keep 'em coming Sophie!!
really liked this one! I'd say it's my 2nd fave Sophie Kinsella book.
Another gread read by Sophie Kinsella. I liked this book better than the Shopaholic series and I loved those. I hope she turns this into a series.
Sophie Kinsella outdid herself! The story kept my interest and kept me turning pages. I liked the used of the footnotes, it was appropriate to the story. I liked -scratch that.- I loved the middle of the story, where everything started to make sense. The book started a bit slow, and picked up speed. I liked the end. The only negative that I noticed, and I might be wrong, is that Sophie kind of recycles characters. But I might be wrong! Overall, the book was great, well-written, and entertaining. A page turner!
