Author(s) threw in four distinct detective stories together in this book: a framed murder, serial killer of a luxury hotel chain, a violent pharmaceutical hoist and death of young girls associated with a self-destructive teen movie star. So, not much pages dedicated to the twists and turns of each case, like reading Cliff Notes ... but that turns out okay for a mindless fast read.

I read Everything by Patterson. Another great book! Patterson makes characters you can easily fall in love with. From Alex Cross, to Michael Bennett, Lindsey Boxer and now ofcourse, Jack Morgan!

A new series from this prolific writer and friends. Characters aren't quite so defined as in the CROSS and the womens group series but they'll likely develop as the series continues. I think this might be the second book .

I've been an avid reader of muder mystery novels lately and after reading my very first James Patterson novel I can say that this book is entertaining and fun, but nothing new. Compared to other novels i've read this is only an ok book for me and I never really became attached to the characters. I liked the evil twin aspect of the story, and I enjoyed some of the complexities; but the main victim in the story didn't really have much of a history for me to get attached to and the story line of the hotel owner didn't really lead anywhere in the end. I'm guessing if I had read the first Private Novel I might have appreciated the story more than I did. But in other series i've jumped around and each book seemed to create an independent story with recaps of history in the character relationships making the book its own unit. That seems to be missing in this series. Overall I can't say it was a great book, but definately an enjoyable read.

I liked the books that Patterson and Paetro did in the Women's Murder Club series and this series about P.I. Jack Morgan is pretty good also. The story is about the murdered, former lover and employee of Jack's, who turns up dead on his bed when he comes back into town. He has been set up and is the #1 Suspect. A good sub-plot has to do with a return of his mafia friend, who he was forced to work for in the 1st book of this series, to save his brother's life. All in all, a good read.

This is a very poor effort by a prolific writer who can obviously get anything published. Motiveless murders, cardboard characters, childish romance--it's all here.

I literally could not put this book down! I started reading it and finished it next night at 230 in the morning! Suspensful and thirilling. With a couple of stories going on at the smae time, made it even more intriguing! Defintely an awesome read!!
