This truely is a wonderful autobiography of Rob Lowe and his life as a son, father, brother, husband and actor. I loved hearing about his life from his childhood living in Ohio clear through to his preset life. He has a beautliful family and is very well adjusted today. He is a true inspiration to all of us that no matter how we are raised, or what we may encounter in life...there is a plan for prosperity and wellness if we so choose. I will recommend this book to all of my friends.

What a wonderful story written by Mr. Lowe. It was such an easy, relaxed read. You really get an insight into the decisions you make and how they affect your life. He was given an opportunity to make positive changes in his life and he's really flourished. He's become my hero!

Listening to this was wonderful, enlightening and a little trip down memory lane. It is great to hear about the life of actors and what they went through to get where they are today. Glad he thought well enough to get off the merry-go-round of alcohol before crashing and burning like so many hollywood stars do. Mega coodoes! If only we understood how much our parents and past shape us to this day and ahead. Rob is right though, you have a choice every day to make and only you can choose. Very enjoyable!

Started out slow, but once Lowe gets into his days getting into acting in California, the stories are quite interesting. The clever way in which he "name drops" using hints and descriptions of people creates a "Guess Who" kinda game. It is fun to play along...

From CD liner notes. "The Outsiders" placed Rob at the birth of the modern youth movement in the entertainment industry. During his time on "The West Wing", he witnessed the surreal nexus of show business and politics both on the set and in the actual White House. And Rob tells unforgettable stories of the years in between, of the wild excesses that marked the eighties and led to his quest for family and sobriety. No other actor could talk about this era in Hollywood with such wit, candor, and depth. Never mean-spirited or salacious, he delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last twenty-five years.
